Ft. Washington Avenue

Random sights on a walk down Ft. Washington Avenue

Alot of people moving this weekend.

We ended up at Frank's Market on 187th street, one of our favorites for gourmet goodies.

To Serve and Protect

Lucky for me that they MTA didn't pass the ban on photography, but I don't think these two noticed me anyway. Here is a shot of "New York's Finest" hard at work at the 59th Street Columbus Circle station during the Friday evening rush hour.

I wonder if he is playing Tetris

Saint Nicholas Intimate

For some reason these store fronts interest me. Particularly the 'Intimate' sign.

Yes, the streets are crooked.

42nd Street

Through the window at the NASDAQ building. Maybe not exactly 42nd Street... maybe 43rd.

Looks cleaner by contrast. Maybe it's just the black & white. But that is definitely 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue.

Museum Review: MoSex

Checked out the Museum of Sex (MoSex) this week. Here is the cure for your curiosity.

The first exhibition room is decorated like a little girl's bedroom, but it has tasteful nudie pictures on the walls. Some of them are in 3-D or are holograms.

In the next exhibition room there were two rows with five black cubes in each row. On the top of each of the black cubes there were fuzzy, black & white early stag flims being projected onto them from some mechanism in the ceiling.

This was a mural on the wall in one room... for some reason.

Here's the rundown on the Museum of Sex: They had some fuzzy, black & white porn. They had some nudie pictures and posters. And a couple of weird sex contraptions. I had heard that they had three floors with an S&M exhibit on the 3rd floor, but there was only two floors.

Cranky T Museum Rating: Thumbs Down! I mean... I've seen racier stuff just walking past the newsstand.

More Washington Heights

Some things look better in color.

This shot was featured on LALALAND on March 13th under the theme "Abandoned".

Washington Heights

I moved from Bay Ridge in Brooklyn to Washington Heights last October.
I decided to make it a project for myself to shoot the neighborhood to familiarize myself with it as well as capture some of the characters that live in the 'hood (and there are many). This will probably be an ongoing project.

That's the ol' evil eye if I've ever seen it. Even though she looked like she would cuss me out any moment, she stood there staring at me and let me take her picture. When I was done, I high-tailed it outta there. Don't want her putting a curse on me or something.

I always hope I won't get noticed when I am taking someone's picture.
This wasn't one of those times.
